The Cundinamarca Police delivered the balance of what happened this Saturday afternoon in the variant between the municipalities of Chía and Cota due to the fight between the Atlético Nacional fans.

According to the Police, there was a brawl between two groups of fans who wore the distinctive jerseys of the ‘purslane’ team, who met on that road and attacked each other with stones, sticks and sharp weapons. The groups traveled from Medellín and Bogotá to Tunja (Boyacá) where the match between Patriotas and Atlético Nacional is being held.

As a result, five people were injured, two of them seriously, so they were sent to the Chía clinic. These people have significant injuries to their rib cage and one of their lungs.

One more person was arrested for attempted murder.

Due to this fight, in which at least 80 people participated, road closures had to be made because the situation became dangerous for people and drivers who traveled through the sector.

In the videos made by social network users, you can see how with stones, sticks and even machetes, these people attack each other before the astonished gaze of the drivers. No deaths have been reported so far.

Faced with this situation, the Mayor’s Office of Cota reported, through its social networks, that the situation was controlled by the Public Force “but caution is recommended to the public and to remain in their places of residence, until order is completely restored. ”.
