When we are looking for the best rooftop in New York, we have some with views of the city and its skyscrapers, others with views of the Hudson River or the East River, but if we are looking for one that has the best view of Central Park and its surrounding gigantic buildings, the new option is Darling, located on the 47th floor of the renovated hotel park lane new york.

Darling is the only rooftop located in the so-called millionaires’ block.

With a wraparound outdoor patio oasis and a bold interior lounge designed to take advantage of expansive views, Darling is an intimate gathering space featuring a gourmet cocktail menu.

Designed by studio LUCID, Darling invites visitors to enter via a staircase encased in an intricate mural of bold colors, flowers and animals that pay homage to Central Park.

An ornate pink chandelier presides over the staircase, transporting guests to the hotel’s rooftop garden oasis. The indoor lounge and bar area features an extensive artist-designed mural, En Viu, which continues the visual thread of artwork narrative found throughout the property, with pressed metal ceilings, white floors and black and paneled walls, all juxtaposed with brightly colored furnishings, marble tables, and ornate lighting.

Outside, a wraparound patio with lush greenery and eclectic furnishings in a variety of seating groups including canopy chairs that nod to Central Park’s iconic horse-drawn carriages.

Darling’s menu features a mix of dining options that range from grilled cheese with caviar to seafood towers.

Darling, the rooftop at the Park Lane New York hotel

As we published in our exclusive review«The property has an absolutely enviable location: literally in front of Central Park, which provides breath-taking views at any time of the year, including winter with its snow-filled vegetation and frozen lakes.

The origins of Park Lane New York date back to 1971 when it was built by the city’s real estate developer, Harry Helmsley, at the hands of the Emery Roth & Son’s studio. At the end of 2021, after a transformation process of almost a year and a half, it was completely renewed with a new look & feel.
