Disney Wish, otro sueño de Disney hecho realidad

And the Disney dream came true again! With the arrival of disney wishthe new and fifth cruiser of the fleet of disney cruise linethe cruise line wanted to bring a castle to the sea, more intimate, elegant and with the most modern technology.

During the maiden voyage, after her baptism, the first impression marked some notable differences with other ships in the same fleet. On the outside, similar to the others, but inside, from the theme of charm to the colors and details, they appealed more to a Disney luxury hotel, or a castle, rather than one of her ships.

The Wish looks more sober, with royal blue, gold, coral and dark brown colors, predominant in some public spaces and restaurantsand in its Grand Hall, elegant and with a stage for shows that will be presented on other voyages.

“With this boat we showed that we could maintain our essence, but that we could also raise the level”said the Puerto Rican Angel SarriaSales and Marketing Manager for Latin America. Among the novelties, Sarria highlighted the aquamousethat although it may seem like a water slide, it is not, because it is considered an attraction, and the gastronomy, which includes themed dinners with a show included. “Among them ‘Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure’, which recreates Queen Elsa’s engagement party with Kristoff, which is what would follow after the second ‘Frozen’ movie”he stated enthusiastically.

That enthusiasm was evident at all levels, including the Josh D’Amaropresident of Disney Parks, whom we briefly saw in one of the corridors of the ship. “Here you can see how together we have made this dream a reality. The success obtained is due to the efforts of staff at all levels, who have worked so hard for years”he told us.

Carla HernandezMarketing manager of Disney Cruise Line indicated that this is a ship full of details from the entrance. “For example, the statue of Cinderella that represents how a dream came true”he explained.

Hernández mentioned that for adults there are several restaurants, such as the new Enchanted by Chef Arnaud Lallement Y Rotisserie Stick. In addition, it includes swimming pools, such as the infinity poolthe Spa of the sensesthe creek cafebars and lounges.

Among the novelties for the whole family, he highlighted the hero zonewhere basketball is played the same as ping pong or they use inflatables to race. He too Club Oceaneerreimagined, with fantastic spaces for children.

The most attention-getting

These were some of the elements that caught the most attention during the first tour of this enormous cruise ship:

The Hyperspace Hall

This “Star Wars” bar, much smaller than we imagined, promises to be the most popular. They did not confirm whether or not it will require a reservation, (there was a line during the inaugural trip) but we anticipate a sellout. They offer cocktails with and without alcohol (children can enter during the day), and an extravagant Kaiburr Crystalthe $5,000 cocktail. Yes, you read right!

The Aqua Mouse

The description is a bit confusing, because it is not a water slide or a roller coaster. It is an attraction, and it is Disney’s first at sea, but it was quite similar to the AquaDuck that the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy have, although less intense. The difference is that inside its 770 feet of tubes, a story is told through animated shorts, starring Mickey, Minnie and their friends. Expect ups, downs, laughs and animated shorts, with your dose of water, while you ride on the rafts, with capacity for two people.

Arendelle: A Frozen Food Adventure

As on all Disney ships, dinners are rotated in the three restaurants on the ship (one per night). But our favourite, completely, immersive and with the appearance of characters, was this dinner show, with Nordic cuisine and the presence of Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, with a staging of about 45 minutes. They interact with the public and walk between the tables, which gives an opportunity for some photos, if they come to your table. The other two dinners are at the restaurant 1923(for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded), with a fancier, but a bit understated, kid-friendly experience. Y “Avengers: Quantum Encounter”a cinematic experience that will take you to the universe of Wonderful. In each table it will activate an interactive Quantum Core, to shrink the objects and make them grow remotely and from there it will help Ant-Man and the Wasp in an adventure focused mostly on the restaurant screens, with a surprise “live” ending.

Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods Fast Food

Little has been said about this concept of food around the main pool deck, but it could be a gem yet to be discovered. It includes from the classic “chicken tenders”, for many the best of any cruise, and hamburgers, and some new kiosks in the fleet, with tacos and other Mexican dishes and another with BBQ delicacies, such as ribs, pork and sausages, with the Bonus that they open until 11:00 pm Free, as are the rotating dinner restaurants.

During the inaugural trip, details of some activities, shows and character encounters were missing, which is expected to be ready for this coming July 14, when it will make its first regular passenger trip.

The modern ship, which uses liquefied natural gas, has a capacity for 4,000 passengers. From Port Canaveral it will cruise to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, for three and four nights.
