It is a good option for Peruvians, which was given as part of agreements of the Andean Community of Nations, as well as bilateral commitments signed by Peru, according to information from the Foreign Ministry.

Thus, your DNI not only serves to identify you and carry out civil and commercial acts in Peru, but also to visit the countries of the region.

TO WHICH COUNTRIES CAN YOU TRAVEL WITH A DNI?

Thanks to bilateral agreements and with countries of the Andean Community, Peruvians can travel to the following only with their DNI:

  • bolivia
  • Colombia.
  • Ecuador.
  • Argentinian
  • Brazil.
  • Chili.
  • Paraguay
  • Uruguay.
  • Venezuela.

WHAT DO I NEED TO TRAVEL TO THE COUNTRIES OF THE ANDEAN COMMUNITY?

If you are going to travel to the countries of the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador), you can do it with a passport or DNI; and, in addition, you need the Andean Migration Card (TAM), which is a migratory and statistical control document, mandatory to enter and leave the territory of the CAN countries. You receive the card when entering any Andean country and you must carry it with you during the trip and deliver it to the immigration authorities when you leave the country. Due to the pandemic, Peru has eliminated the use of printed forms and implemented the Virtual TAM at the Jorge Chávez International Airport (for international travelers) and at authorized seaports (for cruise travelers).

TO WHICH COUNTRIES CAN PERUVIANS TRAVEL WITHOUT A VISA?

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are 74 countries that currently – by unilateral decision or by agreement – ​​do not require an entry visa for Peruvians who have ordinary passports. In South American countries, only the DNI is necessary. These are the nations:

South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname and Uruguay and Venezuela.

Central America and the Caribbean: Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Saba and Saint Eustacius.

North America: Mexico.

Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland. Russia, Belarus, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia join the list.

Asia and Middle East: Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Turkey. Both in Indonesia and Lebanon, it is worth mentioning, the visa is processed upon landing and without the need for further requirements.

Africa: Morocco and South Africa.
