Through his official Twitter account, René Higuita again expressed his support for Freddy Rincón, who has been hospitalized since last Monday in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Imbanaco Clinic in the city of Cali.

“Entrusted to God and to all Saints… facing many demons and myths with all faith, that faith that at times falters, when things do not go our way… I am still here on my knees before God Waiting for that miracle, the recovery of my brother Freddy Eusebio.

This is the second message sent by the former Atlético Nacional goalkeeper, who shared several times with Coloso de Buenaventura in the Colombian national team in the 1990s.

“You will be victorious brother with the help of the Lord! #forcefredyrincon”.

The fifth medical part that was released this Wednesday morning through Laureano Quintero, director of the Imbanaco Clinic, who stated that the outlook has not changed and Freddy Rincón’s health status remains critical.

“As we announced from the outset, its condition and criticality are extreme. The prognosis remains very guarded. We will continue with all the pertinent measures and it must be clear that the evolution is not favourable”.

“With prior authorization from the family, the Imbanaco Grupo Quirónsalud Clinic informs the public that Freddy Eusebio Rincón Valencia remains in the Intensive Care Unit and his prognosis continues to be very reserved.

The patient continues in a critical condition, with ventilatory and hemodynamic management and under permanent monitoring, but his evolution has not been favorable.

As up to now and in accordance with your clinical evolution, we will be updating the information on your health status in a timely manner.

We reiterate our feelings of solidarity with his family to whom we continue to offer our permanent support.”

On the other hand, the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, met this Tuesday with family and friends of Freddy Rincón to pray for his speedy recovery. Among the attendees was Freddy Steven, one of the sons of the former player of América de Cali who affirmed that one must not lose faith.

“You have to continue to be positive, believe that my dad is going to get up from there. You have to believe in God.”

Likewise, Darly Rincón, Freddy’s niece, stated that she and her relatives hope that the former Corinthians can overcome this difficult moment.

“We have to have a lot of faith. We have united all the relatives, so that he feels our support, just as he has not offered it. (…) We are very grateful for the support and prayers. We are hooked on God, we are confident that he will come out of this.”

For his part, Jorge Eduardo Muñoz Beltrán, driver of the public transport bus that collided with the truck in which Freddy Rincón was traveling last Monday, April 11 in Cali, spoke with the Tropicana radio station in Cali where he gave details of the evolution of one of his legs that was affected in the accident.

“We have to wait for my swelling to go down to be able to do the surgery. Thank God, the attention has been very good”.

In addition, he revealed that he was just beginning his shift as an operator in the mass transportation system of the Valle del Cauca capital when the incident occurred.

“The traffic light was green, in fact, I had started when the other was red, the previous one. That’s fifth with 27, I think.”
